The Doomsday deviceby ~PenUser

Traditional Art / Drawings / Sci-Fi

...In other words AISC Deepspace Horizon, an orbital bombardment platform/landing troop carrier of a very significant size. Boasting a weapon system capable of relativistic velocities, it's pretty close to a "doomsday device". Further details and notes can be found in the picture for those able to read my handwriting.

Anyway, this is a planning sketch for my comic "Requiem: Part 2".

This actual reminds me of a cartoon i saw on an old VHS tape with a distress-signal in the asteroid-field which was from the 11th planet which no longer exists so they travel back in time and find out the human race came from space as colonist but there ship was destroyed. But anyway they are capture by the 11th planet people and then they escape or something like that.

But yeah, reminds me of that.

But in all seriousness, the amount of energy and sheer space needed to accelerate anything to near-relativistic velocities would require absolutely massive machinery. I don't think 100 kilometres would be nearly enough for something like this, without the discovery of some "exotic materials", as they're called. But anyways, it's a comic, so I think it'll do the job quite well...
